Were you a Journey fan before JSS joined them?

I've to admit that Journey, since I'm 16, was an all time favorite band of mine! Journey like AC/DC, Gary Moore or Y & T were my first bands when I start hearing some "hard rock"!
Never had the luck to see them perform live until last year in Nederland.
They didn't tour so much outside the states also.

I wasn't, to be honest.

To be brutally honest I'm still not, until they release something with JSS on vocals. I always found Steve Perry/Steve Augeri to be too 'wet' for my liking... I like my singers to have a bit of grit to their voices

I'm sure it'll all change when I go to see them live!

I've always been a Journey fan and even followed Steve Perry's solo career. Now I have more reason to be a fan. The only time I managed to see them live was about 6 years ago. I wish I could have seen Steve Perry live. From the videos on MTV, back in the day, it seems like he was so full of energy too.

Funny story. I listened to Journey while in my Mom's womb. Supposedly, there was A LOT of kicking going on during those music sessions

Although I have been a Journey fan all my life, I have never been this intense of a fan until I saw them live with Jeff as their frontman.

I didn't know Journey until I met my husband. I can't qualify myself as a "Journey fan", I like the band and even more now that Jeff is in it!
But I first remain a JSS fan!

Yep, huge fan since I can remember.

Got into Journey in 82, first heard Jeff in 85/86.


Been a fan of both ever since!

I've been a Journey fan since I was a kid. It's amazing what a little brain washing can do!

I have the lady who used to watch me in the afternoons to thank for that.

I was a huge huge fan of Journey in the 80's - when steve perry left, so did I.

I'm a huge Def Leppard fan and go on road trips with my girls (wingchicks) every year. We drive usually all over the New England area and hit 5 or 6 shows - and have entirely too much fun doing it .
This year when they were touring with Journey I was pumped because I knew all the songs etc. The first leg of our trip was with Steve A. - and for us it was painful. We saw the first show and then we didn't want to see anymore Journey. We would arrive late etc.

Then our 2nd leg (hehe) in September we had heard that Steve was replaced so we gave it a chance. And HOOOOKED!! Great performer. I have been taken 'to the darkside' as my DefLep buddies say haha.

Still have yet to meet Mr. JSS .. hopefully someday He was at one of the venues we were at - just walking around - but my friend and I didn't wanna bug him , but we did want to go up and chat with him.. (chicken noises)

Yes, I was a Journey fan before (thanks to my Mom) but, I was a fan of the Steve Perry Journey. I wasn't and still am not familiar with any of the Steve A. Journey. I went to my first Journey concert in July of last year with no expectations, I was mainly going to see Def Leppard. When Neal started playing that guitar, I had to say "Damn!" then when Jeff walked out and started singing, my jaw hit the ground! He BLEW me away! If I was to say that he impressed me, that would be an understatement. I have been hooked on him since that night and have since seen him w/ Journey again. He made my whole year when he pointed at me and smiled! Thank you Jeff!

A friend of mine is a long time JSS fan, she was telling me for years I should go and check him out. Why can´t I listen to people every once in a while??? When he was playing in Hamburg in 2005 I finally decided to go there. What can I say... one of the best concerts I´ve ever been to!!!
I saw Journey in june last year when they played festivals in Europe.
Me and a friend went to Oberhausen to see Whitesnake and that was the first time I saw Journey. I never knew I knew Journey songs ´till that day!
We although went to a festival in the Netherlands two days later and saw Journey again. Liked it again, bought some cds, the rest is history
And when I heard about JSS being the new singer in Journey, that were the best news of the year!

I remember listening Journey when they released Escape back 1981 - I was a 11 years old kid by that moment.

I really love that kind of stuff: I have Bad English, Hardline, Toto, Saga, Steve Perry Solo, Heart, Dokken and a long etc.

Also I have some of the Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain solo releases and some other thing like the Storm S/T or Tane Cain - S/T

1st time that I heard JSS was with the Yngwie's Records back 1984/5.

I also only listened to Journey with Perry. I just lost interest after he left.

Yup...sure was! Thanks to my mom and my sister. I lost interest in them over the past few years, heard them in concert with JSS back in August...And once again...I'm hooked

Of course I knew Journey before Jeff joined the band and some tunes are just amazing but honestly I cannot qualify myself as a fan... I'm more into hard rock stuff! And especially the bands coming from Sweden!

I have always had a HUGE respect for the talent of Jeff... that's why I will always try to give him my support somehow!

But first of all I'm a TALISMAN fan! It's never been a secret! That's how I got to know Jeff and his unlimited universe!!! So I'll be always grateful to TALISMAN whatever the future is bringing!!! Then all the rest comes!

Since I miss Jeff a lot I'm taking into consideration the chance to catch Journey live somewhere in Europe... It would be nice to meet some of you!!!
