| Oh if by some miracle I ever have the money for a digital SLR it will definitely be a Nikon. That's what my film SLR was and it was a great camera. | |

| Great work Kim ...
I am currently using a Konica Minolta 7D with a Canon 40D to be bought in the very near future (probably within a month).
Check out www.dgrin.com <-- great people and info
Have a look-see at my site too (if you have time ) : www.robinsbirdseyeview.com
I too am trying to get into the business a little more than just at the hobby level. Looking for a transition career when I am no longer playing in the jail!
Gonna go look at your other pictures now ... Happy Monday !!

| Thanks....I got really lucky with that shot! I just wish I'd had my 70-300mm lens on my Nikon....I had my 200mm lens and it didn't reach far enough to capture the baby squirrels. Friday afternoon, it's off to the zoo for one last time before the heat sets in to get pictures.
I'd love to hear about the Canon....I hope you are able to get one soon!

| Well, I couldn't help myself yesterday....in the Circuit City Sunday ad, they advertised the Nikon D80 kit (D80 + 18-135mm lens) for $649. I ran to the computer because I wanted to make sure I saw what I thought I saw....pulled up the ad online, and it was right....I clicked on the camera to add it to my cart for pickup later in the morning. However, the cart price was still the normal price of $1099. I called the 800 number and asked if the price would be adjusted on checkout. She said, "That was a misprint....it should be for the Nikon D60 camera."
Dejected, I removed the camera from my online cart. Ah well...I should be happy with my D40x, right? I certainly am....but in my heart I know I should have bought the D80 to begin with...but the price at that time was almost $1200.
On a whim, at around 10:45 Sunday morning, I checked online again to see if they corrected the online ad. I clicked on the D80, and be still my heart....they had a red line through the $1099 price - SEE SALE PRICE IN CART! I looked and they had marked the price down to the $649 price! I printed the cart price out, and practically RAN to the store!
Of course, they were out of stock. But....I was directed to the electronics manager to see if they could order one! And YES!!! I will be getting my new D80 sometime this week.....AT THE SALE PRICE!!!!!
I am one happy camper!

| I promise you won't be disappointed. I think I mentioned I've had mine since September and of course didn't get the deal you did! I still need to post some pictures I took in Paris with my 55-200 VR lens of the Eiffel from our hotel room and some other good shots. I know how exciting it is! Let us know if you notice the difference in the quality between the two. xo Heather | |

| Yes, I remember that you said you had the D80, Heather....it's really the camera that I wanted back in January, but the price was still $1200. I just COULDN'T pass this blunder up!
I see pictures posted taken with the D80 in various places, and the image quality is simply amazing....I can't wait to get mine!
And YES....do post some of your Paris pics...I'd love to see them!
