Review of May 12th 2007 Show Morven Park Leesburg, VA

I am anxiously awaiting the reviews of the VA show! How about some info on seeing Jeff or meeting him!
I'm sure I'm not alone on this one!

Hey guys ..

Well it was truly an amazing show. The parts I saw.. let me explain.

The Polo event itself was a bit of a disappointment. Very unorganized. Me and my 2 friends bought the VIP tix for the extra $$ cuz you could go into a tent. Drink and food FREE. Nice you would think..

Except there were about a million people in the tent. The line for drinks was over 45 minutes to wait. And by the time we got to the front - there was slim pickins..
Don't even ask about the bathrooms.. LOL
But all that was the ok cuz we were hanging out with friends and laughing etc.

Ok soooo show starts..

We are pushed back and barricades put up in front of us. We all stood on a hill looking up at the stage and the stage was VERY high up. It started and was unreal. Jeff sounded fantastic. The band sounded fantastic.

They let people who had special tix in front of us. I had a girl on my right - crazied. Then the people they let in front of us were not Journey fans but polo people - absolutely trashed. Swigging out of wine bottles. And falling back into us. Trying to jump up to touch jeff . The problem was - this was not a regular concert venue - so security was a bit unfamiliar with how to handle these drunk women. It was actually quite amuzing to watch.
The drunk woman in front of us had a price tag sticking out of her shirt .. she was rude so I took a pic of it - haha will post later.

So during la do da song - I had to go to the bathroom - knew I'd loose my spot but that was ok cuz I figured exploding in front of the band would be bad for the concert. Started making my way thru a sea of drunk people that had for the most part been drinking since the event started at 11am - mind you now its 8:30 pm..

Finally I'm in the clearing and POW - I got an elbow in the nose. (accidental of course) Blood running down my face - still having to go to the bathroom - and we are in the middle of a polo field, trees - no lights WHAT SO EVER.

Bleeding.. with heels on I walk thru the darkness on a bumpy, grassy road I look for the ER Hospital tent that I vaguely remember seeing 4 or 5 HOURS before.. As I bleed for about 5 to 10 minutes finally I find a cop and say "help!"

He walks me over to the ER tent. Clearly these people were board. So I had 5 EMTs swarming around me for something to do.

The sit me down - blood pressure cuff out and on my arm- a wad of gauze shoved up my nose .. waiting for the bleeding to slow down.

As I sit in the ER tent - I hear Journey playing in the background. . . .
Can you hear the violins playing for me right now?

Finally the nose bleed subsides - they ask if I want to go to the hospital. . . "umm no thanks I'm fine"
I have to sign a waiver saying I refused a trip to the hospital. Whatever..

As I walk back to the last song before the encore - I think .. "ah well!"

End of the show was great as they come back for Seperate ways with fireworks in the back ground.

I'd have taken pictures - but of course my camera broke at the event. So I have some shitty photos from my camera I'll post later...

Sorry I don't have a more eventful and descriptive story about the actual show.. but if you are interested in what the ER tent looked like - I got you covered!!

oh Kim... poor thing ! You made me laugh with your last remark about the ER tho ! Hope all is well with your nose. And that Jeff and the other Journeymen where there to comfort you after their show!

Hey Kim!
I'm really sorry to hear about your disadventures but that's what makes everything unique, doesn't it?

It will probably never happen again to be in the ER tent with Journey in the background...
