| For anybody here who may be interested, there will be a crowd of us JSS fans gathering at The Devonshire Cat, Wellington Street, Sheffield next Saturday (24th Nov). It's just 100 yards or so from The Corporation. Can't think of any reason why we'd be there particularly but if any other fans want to come along we'd be happy to see them. Who knows, we may just go along to a gig afterwards. We'll be there from late afternoon onwards. Marty Nath, can you leave this here for a day and then take it down? | |

- So, how was the show?????
The show was fantastic, no thanks to the in-house sound guy. There were a lot of complaints about the sound - it was too loud and distorted in some parts of the hall, Jeff's vocals were hardly audible in other parts. As I was working throughout the whole set, wandering around and taking pictures from all areas of the hall, I heard the best and the worst of it. That wasn't the band's fault. They soldiered on regardless and gave a storming performance. Highlight for me was the boogie nights medley at the end, plus an impromptu intro to Rush's YYZ (Jeff claimed that was impossible to dance to - he obviously didn't see me at the Rush shows last month ). There was a 10.30 curfew on the show, as the venue turns into a rock disco afterwards, but Jeff and the boys hung around afterwards until well after midnight to make sure they met and said hi to all the fans who'd stayed behind. Looking forward to Dudley tomorrow night. Marty | |

| Well, you don't have to wait long.... Here are a few pics from the opening show of the UK tour, Sheffield, on Saturday night. I’ve rushed to get them online, as with a succession of gigs over the next few days I may not get another chance for a while. http://www.martymoffatt.com/jssb2007sheffield As usual, the lighting at the show was not conducive to good photography (when will these venues learn?) as it was dark and patchy, but I think at least some of these have come out OK. I think the better shots came out towards the end of the show (and the end of this slideshow) as by then I’d worked out the best settings to use – and I suppose the lighting guy had got used to things too. The show was a great mix of tunes, old and new, and the guys looked like they were having fun on stage. Looking forward to Dudley tonight now. Marty | |

| I agree with Marty on the sound, it was really noticeable during the acoustic/piano part of the show, you could barely hear the keys for distortion -some awful connection somewhere! My only other gripe was the crowd, granted I saw Skid Row the night before and the audience atmosphere was superb, less people (Shame!) for Saturday, I suppose you win some, you lose some in that area. Have put what I remember of the set list on my blog, plus a few shaky pics, anyone with a better memory have a full list?

| Yes, thank you Marty. Those were great photos!
Now did anyone get photos of friends hanging out at the club? I wish I could have been there.
