Which World Play do you prefer? The black one with Deen Castronovo on drums or the Yellow one with Virgil Donati on drums also?

The both are very good albums and both drummers are awesome, but I prefer the Black one with Deen. The drum of Deen is heavier and I think the Marco Mendoza part in the yellow one is fun live but in CD it breaks a little bit the rythm of the whole CD.

Hmmm..well, I heard the black version first but I have the yellow one. The yellow one sounded weird to me the first couple of times I heard it. I'd have to say I like the black version best b/c that is the one I heard first. I still like the yellow one too though.

I own both and enjoy them both so its a bit of an academic question! Although it is usually the yellow version for the extra tracks.

The black CD is the one I've listened the most and I love it. So my vote goes for it. The yellow one is great for its bonus tracks and Virgil Donati is an amazing drummer!

I have both & love both, but have a soft spot for Deen's version, he's just amazing, you can hear the difference between the 2.

But I love the extra tracks on the yellow one, esp. "My Love, My Friend"

I agree, I asked him on MR not too long ago if the backing vocals were the band too or all him, he replied "All me." Just amazing, I could listen to that over & over...actually I HAVE, lol.

Oh yes, that song is incredible! I am constantly in awe of Jeff's voice.

And that's why I love the yellow most! I got that one in my car and the black as a collectors item at home, 'cause I'm affraid it might be stolen out of my car!
