| ... he quits!!!! The truth: he had been fired without warning, stabed in the back by people he believed in! Shame on them! See this article, all bullshit! http://www.pr-inside.com/journey-singer-quits-r151765.htm News - Music, movie, Entertainment JOURNEY SINGER QUITS
Movie & Entertainment News provided by World Entertainment News Network (www.wenn.com)2007-06-13 04:35:04 -
Rockers JOURNEY are on the look out for yet another frontman following JEFF SCOTT SOTO's departure. Soto stepped in for the band when a sick Steve Augeri quit the group last year (06), but now he has become part of rock history after announcing he has left the band yesterday (12Jun07). Soto's first appearance with Journey was in July, 2006. His last show was last month (12May07). Journey guitarist Neal Schon says, "We appreciate all of Jeff's hard work and we can't thank him enough for stepping in when Steve Augeri got sick last year. "He did a tremendous job for us and we wish him the best. We've just decided to go our separate ways... We're plotting our next move now." The group has enlisted a Journey fan to temporarily front them for the remaining dates on their U.S. tour with Def Leppard. Journey are back in the headlines thanks to their 1981 rock anthem Don't Stop Believin' which was played at the end of The Sopranos finale on TV in America on Sunday night (11Jun07).

| What else are they going to say??? They have to save face because they know they just f***d him up by the way it was announced. AND they are fully aware of how fans are reacting which is why they are hiding behind some bullshit story about Jeff quitting. Truth shall prevail...Jeff will set everyone straight!!

| They're going to have a real hard time finding a lead singer after this. Journey or not, no one is going to want to come near this band after what they've done to Jeff. They don't deserve him and they'll never find anyone as good. | |

| This is UTTER BULLSHIT! My best friend's sister-in-law told me 3 weeks ago that her hubby Tim had heard that Jeff was out as lead singer of Journey....I told her that wasn't true, that he was over in Europe doing a farewell tour with Talisman, and that things were fine. Now this! I don't know where Tim heard this, but Shawnie said Tim heard it somewhere and told her. Now I'm hearing a few other people say they were hearing things around the same time. This stinks to high heaven...talk about backstabbing jackasses. I wanted to puke when I heard Jon Cain on a SF sports station doing an interview yesterday about DSB being on "The Sopranos." WHO GIVES A FUCK??!!! Talk about wanting to live off past laurels........ | |

| Updated the 13th june!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journey_(band)
Future
The band toured Europe in early 2007. This tour included stops in the United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, and Spain. As of June 8, 2007, no new dates have been announced. 2007 June 12, 2007, Journey announced the departure of their most recent singer, Jeff Scott Soto. Jeff's last performance was May 12, 2007 in Leesburg, VA. A statement was made on Journey's official website, which was also posted on Soto's sites. However, on Soto's MySpace account, it is introduced with a header: "This is the version released without my involvement, mine will be out soon."

| From Jonathan Cain on CBS: The band had its own dramatic moment Tuesday with the announcement of a parting of the ways with their lead singer, Jeff Scott Soto.
"We wish Jeff the best of luck," Cain said. "We just wanted to move in a different direction sonically. We're interested in our legacy right now. We want to sound like our records and we want to sound like the 65 million units that are out there."
Cain praised Soto for stepping in for Steve Augeri whose throat problems forced him to stop performing in the middle of the Def Leppard tour last July. The band named Soto their permanent lead singer in December.
"Soto came in," said Cain. "We were grateful for his energy and his time and his talent. We had a good 11 months with him." Full interview here: http://www.showbuzz.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/06/13/music/main2926192.shtml

| It isn't often that I write on boards such as these - and this is my third mail in less days.
I really want to try and bring some sanity to all this. Like many journies (no pun intended) this one has come to an unexpected stop, but it matters not whether the stop was for personal, professional or creative reasons, what matters most is the manner in which the brakes were applied - just like in a driving test when the examiner slams the dashboard and cries 'Stop!!!!' It comes as a total surprise to the driver and all around.
But the manner in which this particular emergency stop was undertaken is one that decries any definition of the words 'professional', 'ethical' or 'moral'.
For everything that Jeff brought to Journey in his, very, brief tenure, he delivered with panache and style, passion and conviction - right up to the very end. To be ostracised, then virtually expunged, excomunicated and left in the dark is an awful feeling. But they reckon without Jeff's indominatable spirit and desire to perform.
He will be back, have no fear of that and, if my priviledged ears are telling me the truth, he will be back with material and performances so good, so commercial that all who have wondered 'What about using Je...' will wish they had acted sooner.
I am proud to have worked with this man, proud to see him as a surrogate son, a friend and hope to be able to suport him long into the future.

| Here's a greek article http://www.rocking.gr/article3551.php I'll try to translate it: It was like a bomb the yesterday news from Journey's camp:Jeff Scott Soto that replaced, before a year Steve Augeri,is already past for the band! The reason?Different approach from the singer and the band in whatever has to do with band's music. Journey, since they said thanx to Soto, they'll rest for the rest of 2007,to begin with new plans, new composes and obviously a new singer from 2008... | |

| Oh, I have no doubt Jeff will be back, he will be back and better than ever (if that's possible) I lost any ounce of respect I might have had for Journey. They took the cowardly way of handling it! I thought they were men, sounds to me like they are hiding w/ their tails between their legs! Actions speak louder than words and theirs speak VOLUMES! They can live in the past, in their glory days from years ago, they had the chance to have those again w/ the best singer in the world and they fucked it up. I get some comfort in knowing this "WHAT COMES AROUND, GOES AROUND" Karma is a bitch! They will get theirs. | |
