PostSubject: In a recent interview of Neal Schon about Jeff...   Wed May 13, 2009 5:30 am

In Rock Hard n88 of May 2009

I'm trying to retranslate the words of Neal...

Why did you fired JSS after the US and Euro tour of 2006/2007?

Neal Schon: To tell you the truth, we always have bad thoughts regarding him. He did a good job on the tour. We're are greatfull and he was very well payed for that. But in the band, and it's not only my thoughts, we had personnal problems with him. It didn't work humanly. He didn't act like he was in the band, but individualy like he had a career plan.
It was like a dead end. Jonathan doubted about him to be the singer we need, he sent him a new demo title and he simply didn't do it well. The result wasn't that bad, but the tone was not what we wanted. So we had to separate

JSS is a vortex...the man has momentum...you just can't treat him like a puppet.
JSS has to do his thing the only way he knows how...all out floored from his heart!

I find all of this jargon to be just water under the bridge & the bridge is no more so I feel it's best to let the whole thing flow back into the sea of life & wish all these great men the best...

Welcome on board Shadow! Very Happy

Jeff, a vortex... Laughing He will be pleased to read that! Very Happy Nevertheless, I don't want to polemicate here anymore, but to supply a reason, even for Jeff himself, of the why, the how all this had happened. Neutral

I'll go to see Journey in June in Paris, no problem with that, and I'm very impatient to see them again. bounce

Then now the big guy talk about J as a main problem! when he save his ass doing a great job in the tour giving to his band a lot of great sound with an amazing singer and showman who besides is/was a loyal fan since several years ago?

Also why he doesn't say that J stole him a lot of stage space - if you see how small is the big mouth guy, you can understand my point.

Really I love Journey but I can't understand how a guy like Neal Schon can put in the public eyes how dirty is the way that they make the laundry.

Shamely I can't remember the nicknames that the greatest Marcel Jacob put to those clowns. I found it: Frick & Frack but for me they are just a bad cooy of Beavis and Butthead

How can explain that J made a great job on tour but he has a bad actitute? man what you have on your mind?

And now J didn't made a great job on a simple demo that everybody knows that is just a crap song that can't be a standard on the classic 18 Journey tracks that every fan wants to hear!!

Really I would love 2 read what J could say about this kind of crap.

Man this chicken head made me feel really bad with this kind of answer, sorry for the bad words but is really sad 2 read that some1 is able enough to say something bad from some1 who saves his ass.

This is yet just another one of Neal's lame explanations! Each one is as conflicting as the other. He can't even keep the excuses straight!! Rolling Eyes

Schon is an ass. I don't care if "business is business". Jeff came in and saved their asses and did a great job doing it and now they are going to talk smack about him? What about all that shit Neil said about Jeff being a "brother" and how they were writing some great songs together? They all acted like Jeff was so great then they don't even fire him to his face. Jeff has to hear about it second hand. Business or not it's fucking wrong to do that to people.

yes you are right Teri and is hard 2 believe that now he wants to sell us that he needs to make some noise to raise Journey's CDs sales or something else.

if he is playing a game called "Neal doing Neal" I guess that is the wrong way 2 help 2 keep Jeff's name in the Journey's fans memory, we only need 2 stop by on youtube and watch some videos 2 see how loyal, gentelman and showman was Jeff at that time and still playing that excelent role.

A good friend of mine (and Jeff) once said "Neal's ego is bigger than he is!" Too true!

During the Talisman tour (after the 'Polo' show) Jeff was concerned that rumours were surfacing and not once (bearing in mind that I was with him all day (except when he was asleep Laughing )) did he 'bad-mouth' Journey or any of its members, in fact in interviews he praised them, talked about the future, about being part of the family, about new songs and touring. It was only when we got to Sweden Rock (the last gig on the Talisman tour) that anything concrete came out; first it was blurted out by a member of another band in the Azof camp and then back at the hotel by a member of the Azof team, and then in a phone call the next day.

There is an old saw about 'What goes on the road stays on the road' and Jeff lives by that tennett - that is how honourable he is. Even today when asked about the end of the journey (sic) he won't talk in depth, preferring to keep his thoughts to himself. One day the story will be told, but not in the way Neal tells it!

What gets me down is that Journey are still held in high regard, despite their obvious inability to keep a lead singer - my only thoughts about them right now are "Watch your back Arnel!"

Uncle H, you are exactly right. Jeff does not bad mouth people or dish dirt. I've known this about him for a long time. It's a very admirable quality.

Well said, Uncle H.

One of the things I admire about Jeff (besides his singing and showmanship) is that he is a class act. I didn't really care for Neal Schon BEFORE that interview, based on things I've heard....his own statements just confirm what I've heard.

Jeff, on the other hand, speaks positively, even of those who have done him wrong. He takes time to talk to his fans. He is a classy guy. Not many in the business like him, to be sure...
